The earliest known inhabitants of Limbe were the Bantu people, who settled in the area around the 5th century AD. These people were largely nomadic, and they lived off of hunting, fishing, and gathering. They also practiced agriculture, and their culture was heavily influenced by the religions of the region, including Islam and Christianity.
